Closing Discussion and Prayer
Lesson 3
Closing Discussion
Spend some time discussing and reflecting on this lesson and then close with a prayer below.
After this lesson, how would you answer the question: Who is God?
How can you work to bring God's goodness into the world?
What to Remember:
God loves by surrounding everything with goodness
Getting Ready for Prayer
(Optional)
Given that God surrounds everything with goodness:
Does the ground vibrate with joy when we stomp our feet? Try.
Does the air vibrate with joy when we clap our hands? Try.
Do the walls vibrate with joy when we stomp our feet and clap our hands at the same time? Try.
While you think about these questions: sit on the floor, legs crisscrossed and let the joy of God’s goodness wrap around you during this prayer.
Closing Prayer
Invite the students to pray with you as you read the prayer below.
Gracious God:
Bless the Lord, O my soul.
O Lord my God, you are very great.
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
wrapped in light as with a garment.
You stretch out the heavens like a tent,
you set the beams of your chambers on the waters,
you make the clouds your chariot,
you ride on the wings of the wind,
you make the winds your messengers,
fire and flame your ministers.
You set the earth on its foundations,
so that it shall never be shaken.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
May my meditation be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the Lord.
In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
